THE Day: D-Day

Less than a day left for Aahān – the words feel a little surreal. All the months we’ve spent, building upon the past to ensure that the outcome is brilliant, all of that and everything else is now on the line as Aahān 2012 goes live on January 11 at 09:00 am.

Looking back at the 150 or so days we spent in moulding Aahān, it’s been less of a task and more of an experience. With a staggering total of 28 events, a huge Pronite by DJ Notorious and a healthy number of colleges coming in, we’re set. Set to tackle the hurdles and smoothly push through the day, laughing off every problem and giving it our all. The Aahān Workstation is buzzing with PoPs, Registration Sheets, CDs, Excel sheets on computers, wires, cords, games, mount boards, paint and what not, but we are not complaining. This is why we came together in the first place – to give the student of today a chance to taste the difference. This is the sole reason why we’re up in the middle of the night, planning for the next day, with just as excitement in our hour of exhaustion. The smell of freshly printed banners and posters wafts through UPG’s Third Floor Foyer, amidst the bustle of members running around with a stack of things in their arms. The sensation of urgency mixed with a good dose giddiness. Safe to say, we’re eager!

Words fail us (okay, maybe not) when we try to think about life post Aahān. We will finally see the light of day, literally. After college hours will be morose once again, and canteen calls won’t be the same without the seeping in of work-related discussions. Chaos won’t sound familiar, and organisation will go for a toss once again.

HOWEVER, on a happier note, we’re gearing up for the final push – 72 hours of crazy activity, success and competition. We’re looking forward to the gigantic load of work we’re taking on for the last time, and the late night group meetings that put an end to the day.

We look forward to seeing you, you, you and yes, YOU on-venue as Aahān 2012 officially opens. Here we go!
